Set it right
DEWA recommends 24 °C or higher where comfortable; it says each degree increase can save up to 5% on AC consumption. Clean filters regularly according to equipment guidance and conditions.
District cooling (chiller) bills
District-cooling charges depend on the approved tariff and billing structure for your building. Check consumption, capacity and account charges, applicable VAT and the current RSB schedule with your provider. These utility charges are separate from OMEGA maintenance prices.
Humidity and mould
Warm, moist air can condense on cool surfaces. Before leaving a home empty, agree a cooling, humidity and ventilation plan suitable for its equipment and condition, with property checks while you are away.
Use a maintenance record instead of a rigid calendar
Follow the installed equipment’s guidance and the agreed maintenance programme. Ask about filter condition, accessible condensate paths, controls and relevant operating readings. Fresh ceiling staining, drips or persistent odours require assessment; a blocked drain is only one possible cause. Duct cleaning is separately assessed rather than assumed necessary on a fixed date.
If you will be away
Tell OMEGA how the home will be occupied and what access can be arranged. The Home Watch starting scope includes three visits per month, with the actual checks and escalation arrangements agreed for the property. Recorded visits and car care can be discussed as part of the confirmed scope. It is property care, not a security or uninterrupted-system guarantee.
